A newly released police report from the Chandler Police Department has shed light on the circumstances surrounding the drowning death of Trigg Kiser, the 3-year-old son of social media influencer Emilie Kiser. The report alleges that Trigg’s father, Brady Kiser, was distracted by a basketball game and had placed a sports bet shortly before his son was found in the family’s backyard pool.
According to the police report, officers who arrived at the scene found Brady Kiser watching an NBA playoff game. While Brady Kiser initially stated his focus was on their newborn son, the report indicates that cell phone records show he placed a $25 wager on a Celtics player around the time of the incident. The report further alleges that surveillance footage contradicts Brady’s statements, with the toddler unsupervised in the backyard for over nine minutes and in the water for about seven of those minutes.
The Chandler Police Department had recommended a felony child abuse charge against Brady Kiser. However, in a statement on July 25, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced that Brady Kiser would not be charged, citing no reasonable likelihood of conviction.
This development follows Emilie Kiser’s legal efforts to keep details of the investigation private. On August 8, the Arizona Superior Court for Maricopa County ruled in her favor, allowing the redaction of two pages from the police report that reportedly contained graphic details about Trigg’s final moments.
