Jaguars Kicker Cam Little Blasts Unofficial Record 70-Yard Field Goal

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little has stunned the NFL world by nailing a 70-yard field goal during a preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The kick, which would have shattered the regular-season record, has become a major talking point, though it will not be officially recognized in the NFL record books.

The dramatic moment occurred as time expired in the first half of the Jaguars’ 31-25 preseason loss on Saturday night. With the team trailing, Little was given the opportunity to attempt the long-range kick from his own 40-yard line. According to reports, the kick had plenty of power and cleared the crossbar with several yards to spare. Little, a sixth-round draft pick in 2024 from Arkansas, said he was thrilled with the result, though disappointed it wouldn’t count as an official record.

The current NFL record for the longest field goal is 66 yards, set by Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens in 2021. While Little’s kick will not be added to the official record, it stands as a remarkable feat. It is also believed to be the longest field goal ever made in a game, surpassing a 69-yard kick made in college football in 1976. Little, who was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2024, now heads into his second season with a new level of confidence and a highlight-reel kick that demonstrates his powerful leg.
