Google to Showcase Pixel 10 and New AI Features at Upcoming Event

Google is set to host its annual “Made by Google” event on Wednesday, August 20, where it is expected to unveil the new Pixel 10 lineup of smartphones. The event, taking place in New York City, will also feature new versions of the Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds, with a heavy emphasis on Google’s latest advancements in artificial intelligence.

The Pixel 10 series, which is rumored to include the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, is expected to be powered by the new Tensor G5 chipset. This chip, reportedly manufactured by TSMC, is anticipated to offer significant performance and efficiency gains, particularly for on-device AI functions. Among the new AI features, a “Camera Coach” is expected to use Google’s Gemini AI to provide real-time suggestions on how to improve photography by analyzing lighting, angles, and framing. Another reported feature, “Conversational Photo Editing,” would allow users to edit photos using voice or text prompts.

Google has been building anticipation for the event with a series of teasers. A recent advertisement for the Pixel 10 subtly mocked Apple for its delayed rollout of AI features, with the tagline, “Ask more of your phone,” highlighting the Pixel’s advanced AI tools. The launch event will be livestreamed on YouTube, and the phones are expected to be available for pre-order immediately after the event. The Pixel 10 is rumored to introduce a triple-camera setup on the base model, a feature previously reserved for the Pro versions, while the Pro models may receive boosted battery capacities.
