On October 25, U.S. President Trump again accused Canada of releasing a “fabricated” video of former U.S. President Reagan on the social media platform “Truth Social,” stating that it “misleads the public with edited audio and video” and calling it “fraud.”
Trump cited a statement from the Reagan Foundation, which said that Canada was not authorized to use or edit Reagan’s speech and that the foundation was considering legal action. He stated that Canada’s intention was to influence the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on tariffs through false propaganda.
Trump also announced that in response to Canada’s “serious distortion of facts and hostile actions,” the United States will impose an additional 10% tariff on the country.
