Legendary Entertainment’s ‘Street Fighter’ Movie Sets October 2026 Release, Unveils Star-Studded Cast

Legendary Pictures and Capcom’s highly anticipated new live-action Street Fighter movie has officially set its theatrical release date for October 16, 2026. This reboot of the iconic fighting game franchise, which is now in production, has also revealed a full cast list that blends established actors with notable figures from the worlds of wrestling and music. The film will be the first project released under Legendary’s new global distribution deal with Paramount Pictures.

The film, directed by Kitao Sakurai, is set in 1993, a clear homage to the release year of Street Fighter II. The plot centers on estranged friends and martial arts rivals, Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo). Their paths cross again when they are recruited by the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) to participate in the World Warrior Tournament. The tournament, however, is revealed to be a front for a sinister conspiracy, forcing the fighters to confront both their opponents and their own past.

The cast features a diverse array of talent, with Andrew Koji (Warrior) and Noah Centineo (Black Adam) in the lead roles of Ryu and Ken, respectively. The ensemble includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, WWE star Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma, and David Dastmalchian as M. Bison. Other notable castings include Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog and professional wrestler Cody Rhodes as Guile. Filming for the project began in Australia in August 2025.
