On Thursday, OpenAI announced it has acquired Software Applications Incorporated. A spokesperson for OpenAI said that all 12 members of the Software Applications team will be joining OpenAI, but the terms of the deal were not disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a blog post, OpenAI said the startup’s product, Sky, allows Mac users to get help with writing, programming, planning, and managing daily tasks using natural language prompts. Sky can perform actions through an app and automatically understand what’s on the user’s screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Sky’s deep integration with Mac accelerates our vision of bringing AI directly into the tools people use every day,” Nick Turley, head of ChatGPT at OpenAI, said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the company’s website, Software Applications was founded in 2023 and launched the Sky product in May. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman participated in the startup’s $6.5 million seed funding round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
