The popular animated series South Park has turned its satirical eye on Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in its latest episode, continuing its focus on the Trump administration. The episode, titled “Got a Nut,” features a caricature of Noem in a prominent role, drawing on her recent political actions and a past controversy.
The episode reportedly centers on a school counselor, Mr. Mackey, who is forced to join Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after losing his job due to budget cuts. The show depicts Noem as the leader of ICE, who is seen in a recruitment video referencing her controversial admission of shooting her own puppy. Throughout the episode, the animated Noem is portrayed repeatedly killing puppies, including a service dog at a “Dora the Explorer Live!” show and even Superman’s dog, Krypto.
The show’s creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, also take aim at other members of the administration. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance appear in a sequence parodying the classic television show Fantasy Island. Vance is depicted as a miniature, sycophantic character in a white suit, similar to the character Tattoo, while Trump embodies the show’s host, Mr. Roarke.
This is not the first time South Park has engaged in a public back-and-forth with the administration. Following a previous episode that mocked President Trump, the White House dismissed the show as irrelevant. In a new development, the DHS’s official X account used a still from the latest episode showing ICE agents to promote recruitment. South Park’s official account responded with a sharp retort, questioning the White House’s earlier claims of irrelevance.
