Lady Gaga Reinvents Herself with Theatrical ‘Mayhem Ball’ Tour

Lady Gaga is embarking on her highly anticipated “The Mayhem Ball” tour in support of her new album, “Mayhem.” The tour, which commenced on July 16, 2025, has garnered significant critical acclaim for its theatricality and storytelling, with many critics drawing comparisons to a Broadway musical. The tour marks a powerful return to her dance-pop roots and is described as a “rebirth” for the pop icon.

Unlike her previous tours, “The Mayhem Ball” is a narrative-driven spectacle. It tells a story of Lady Gaga’s personal and professional duality—the battle between her artistic persona, Lady Gaga, and her personal identity, Stefani Germanotta. This internal conflict is personified by a character called “Mayhem,” who serves as the “Mistress of Mayhem” and “tortures” Gaga throughout the show. The tour’s setlist weaves a journey through her career, culminating in the acceptance of her dual identities.

The production is lauded for its high energy, intricate choreography by Parris Goebel, and immersive fan experience, which includes the use of Pixmob bracelets. The show features a mix of new tracks from the Mayhem album, alongside fan favorites from her earlier works like The Fame and Born This Way. The show has been particularly praised for its ability to transform arena venues into intimate, theatrical settings, proving that Gaga maintains full creative control over her performances.

The tour, initially planned as a brief run of promotional concerts, was expanded into a full-scale world tour due to the album’s strong fan reception. It is scheduled to conclude on January 30, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan, after a 63-show run across North America, Europe, and Australia.
